I am a guide, accompanying you through the unfamiliar, complex, and sometimes hazardous terrain of your inner life.
My approach isn’t to offer opinions or give advice. My goal is to help you grow right out of yourself. In other words, I don't encourage you to grow in accord with my idea of you, but rather help you evolve from that which you already and naturally are.
This means our greatest resource is something you already possess—an innate wisdom that knows the way, even when your conscious mind does not.
Our work together will be to uncover that wisdom.
To that end, I will bring to every session patience, kindness, a belief in your inherent worth as a human being, and a deep commitment to your highest good.
This can be one of life's most painful and disorienting events. It raises difficult questions about identity, attachment, hope, family, and security. The first step is often the most difficult - learning to relocate ourselves in the world without our partner.
Losing a job can be powerfully disruptive to a sense of worth. It raises hard questions about self-esteem, value, and identity. Learning to accept our inherent worth, regardless of circumstances, is often the key to regaining confidence.
Losing someone we love, whether sudden or not, is a shock to the system no matter how prepared we think we are. Managing grief can be difficult and requires immense patience - especially as friends and family seem anxious for us to "move on."
A serious health crisis not only asks us to learn new ways of doing things, it can also create feelings of vulnerability that challenges our sense of safety and security.
Retirement is a time when many people feel they may lose their way. Work always provided a ready-made structure that reassured us of who we are and losing it can create anxiety and disorientation. However, it can also be a time of great opportunity if we give the questions and feelings their proper due.
The mission changes suddenly and we often find ourselves discovering years of deferred maintenance hidden in our relationships - in our partners and in ourselves.

We don’t know how much time you will need to unfurl your questions. I've worked with some clients for a few weeks, and some of my current clients have been working with their questions for years. That's why I prefer to take it one session at a time. This doesn’t mean we won’t be seeking the shortest distance to solutions. We will. Vigorously. But after many years, I've learned that the deepest and most enduring answers rarely arrive on a schedule.
